FAQs
You can find answers to common questions below, so you know just how to spa at Gaia. Get in touch with our team to find out more.
-
When is Gaia Spa open?
Gaia Spa is open seven days a week, 365 days a year. The swimming pool, indoor heat experiences, hydrotherapy pool and gym are open between 6am and 10pm and treatments can be booked between 9am and 8pm. These hours are subject to change.
We aim to keep all hotel and spa facilities operating during our opening hours but some facilities may be closed for private events, cleaning, decoration, repairs or any other reason beyond our control. We aim to minimise disruption to guests as much as possible, but please note we are not liable for this.
-
Can hotel guests use the spa?
Hotel guests can use the spa between 1pm on the day of check-in until 1pm on the day of check-out, unless a late check-out or a treatment has been booked. Usage of the spa facilities is free to any guests having a 45-minute or longer spa treatment. Guests who have booked a treatment under 45 minutes can upgrade to use the spa facilities for the day - just speak to our reception team.
-
Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my spa day or treatment?
It is recommended that no alcohol is consumed immediately before your arrival and that you consume plenty of water following any treatments.
-
Do you provide anything for spa days or treatments?
Robes, flip flops and towels are provided for guests on spa days, and you'll also be allocated your own locker.
-
Do I need to arrive early for my spa appointment?
To make the most of your treatment, we would recommend that you arrive a minimum of 20 minutes before your first appointment. Unfortunately, if you are late for your appointment, your treatment duration may be reduced, and in this event, there will be no deduction to the price charged. Treatment times include consultation and aftercare advice.
-
What happens if my treatment is cancelled?
Due to unforeseen circumstances such as staff sickness, spa treatments may need to be moved. If we are unable to accommodate your treatment, we will offer an alternative of equivalent value. If you are a hotel guest, we can apply the value of the treatment as a credit to your room account.
-
Does Gaia Spa offer free parking?
There is a large car park at Boringdon Hall for spa guests to use free of charge.
-
What attire should I wear at Gaia Spa?
Before your spa treatment, we would advise changing into a bathrobe and footwear provided. Please be assured that all of our therapists are highly trained and your modesty will be protected at all times.

-
Is a service charge included at the Spatisserie?
A discretionary 10% Service Charge is applied to bills in the Spatisserie, which is paid directly to our staff. No other service charges are applied, as we believe this should always be at the guest’s discretion.

The deep relaxation room is only available for guests to relax after their treatment. Our inner sanctuary for private relaxation is also available to book in this area.
-
Is there any specific spa etiquette I need to follow?
Our spa environment is relaxing and tranquil, allowing time to calm the mind, refocus the body and soothe the soul. Please respect all spa guests’ right to privacy and quietness. Who do I need to speak to if I have any health conditions?
Please notify our staff if you are pregnant or have any special medical considerations so that appropriate treatment can be recommended. Please let us of any health conditions, allergies or injuries, which could affect your treatment when making your spa reservations.
Gaia Spa cannot be held responsible for any changes to treatments or cancellations that occur due to non-disclosure of medical conditions at the time of booking, however it's our ethos to help all people be well. We have experienced and highly trained therapists who will be happy to discuss any concerns you may have.
On arrival, you'll be asked to complete a medical consultation form which will be handed to your therapist. Pregnant people are strongly advised against the use of any heat and or hydrotherapy facilities. Also, guests suffering from any heart conditions or high blood pressure will be unable to use any of our heat experiences.

-
Do you require a deposit?

-
What happens if I need to cancel?
As a courtesy to other guests, we ask that you provide 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be subject to 50% of the treatment cost. If you give less than 12 hours' notice, you'll be charged the full treatment cost.
-
Can I make a group booking?
Please inform us at the time of booking if you are planning on travelling in a group of six or more. Without informing us, we reserve the right to refuse check-in and any deposit will be lost.
Large groups may be required to provide an additional deposit at check-in, returnable on departure if unaffected. Should there be any inappropriate behaviour by the group after check-in, we reserve the right to discontinue the reservation without a refund. Please contact our reservations team to discuss a group booking if you are planning on travelling as a group of more than six people.
If you wish to amend your booking in any way, please contact us before you arrive. We cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate any amendments to your booking.

In some cases, we will follow up your visit with a phone call or email.
