• When is Gaia Spa open?

Gaia Spa is open seven days a week, 365 days a year. The swimming pool, indoor heat experiences, hydrotherapy pool and gym are open between 6am and 10pm and treatments can be booked between 9am and 8pm. These hours are subject to change.

We aim to keep all hotel and spa facilities operating during our opening hours but some facilities may be closed for private events, cleaning, decoration, repairs or any other reason beyond our control. We aim to minimise disruption to guests as much as possible, but please note we are not liable for this.

  • Can hotel guests use the spa?

Hotel guests can use the spa between 1pm on the day of check-in until 1pm on the day of check-out, unless a late check-out or a treatment has been booked. Usage of the spa facilities is free to any guests having a 45-minute or longer spa treatment. Guests who have booked a treatment under 45 minutes can upgrade to use the spa facilities for the day - just speak to our reception team.

  • Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my spa day or treatment?

It is recommended that no alcohol is consumed immediately before your arrival and that you consume plenty of water following any treatments.

  • Do you provide anything for spa days or treatments?

Robes, flip flops and towels are provided for guests on spa days, and you'll also be allocated your own locker.

  • Do I need to arrive early for my spa appointment?

To make the most of your treatment, we would recommend that you arrive a minimum of 20 minutes before your first appointment. Unfortunately, if you are late for your appointment, your treatment duration may be reduced, and in this event, there will be no deduction to the price charged. Treatment times include consultation and aftercare advice.

  • What happens if my treatment is cancelled?

Due to unforeseen circumstances such as staff sickness, spa treatments may need to be moved. If we are unable to accommodate your treatment, we will offer an alternative of equivalent value. If you are a hotel guest, we can apply the value of the treatment as a credit to your room account.

  • Does Gaia Spa offer free parking?

There is a large car park at Boringdon Hall for spa guests to use free of charge.

  • What attire should I wear at Gaia Spa?

Before your spa treatment, we would advise changing into a bathrobe and footwear provided. It is advisable to wear underwear or swimwear underneath, although we can provide disposable briefs if you prefer. Please be assured that all of our therapists are highly trained and your modesty will be protected at all times.

  • What attire should I wear at Gaia Spa's gym?

Guests should dress for comfort in a t-shirt or vest with stretch trousers or shorts. Trainers must be worn in the gym and for all fitness classes.

  • Is there anything I need to know before entering the heat experiences?

Suitable swimwear must be worn at all times. Specific instructions for the use of heat experiences are detailed. Please follow the instructions for use and ensure you drink plenty of water beforehand.

  • What attire do I need to wear in the Spatisserie?

Our Spatisserie is a sociable area, so guests are welcome to wear their robes in the Spatisserie.

  • Is a service charge included at the Spatisserie?

A discretionary 10% Service Charge is applied to bills in the Spatisserie, which is paid directly to our staff. No other service charges are applied, as we believe this should always be at the guest’s discretion.

  • Can I use the relaxation area?

The deep relaxation room is only available for guests to relax after their treatment. Our inner sanctuary for private relaxation is also available to book in this area.

  • Is there any specific spa etiquette I need to follow?

Our spa environment is relaxing and tranquil, allowing time to calm the mind, refocus the body and soothe the soul. Please respect all spa guests’ right to privacy and quietness. We kindly ask that mobile phone usage is kept at a minimum and at a respectful volume, to ensure a complete experience of wellbeing.

  • Are children allowed in Gaia Spa?

To maintain tranquillity, children under 16 are not allowed to use the facilities at Gaia Spa.

  • Who do I need to speak to if I have any health conditions?

Please notify our staff if you are pregnant or have any special medical considerations so that appropriate treatment can be recommended. Please let us of any health conditions, allergies or injuries, which could affect your treatment when making your spa reservations.

Gaia Spa cannot be held responsible for any changes to treatments or cancellations that occur due to non-disclosure of medical conditions at the time of booking, however it's our ethos to help all people be well. We have experienced and highly trained therapists who will be happy to discuss any concerns you may have.

On arrival, you'll be asked to complete a medical consultation form which will be handed to your therapist. Pregnant people are strongly advised against the use of any heat and or hydrotherapy facilities. Also, guests suffering from any heart conditions or high blood pressure will be unable to use any of our heat experiences.

  • Does Gaia Spa offer gift vouchers?

Gift vouchers are available for any treatment, day spa programme or product and are an ideal present for someone special. Gift vouchers are non-refundable and must be presented to spa reception upon arrival.

  • Do monetary vouchers have an expiry date?

No, they don't. You can use our monetary vouchers whenever you like - you just need to book ahead of time.

  • Do you require a deposit?

Full prepayment is required for all spa treatments.

  • What happens if I need to cancel?

As a courtesy to other guests, we ask that you provide 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be subject to 50% of the treatment cost. If you give less than 12 hours' notice, you'll be charged the full treatment cost.

  • Can I make a group booking?

Please inform us at the time of booking if you are planning on travelling in a group of six or more. Without informing us, we reserve the right to refuse check-in and any deposit will be lost.

Large groups may be required to provide an additional deposit at check-in, returnable on departure if unaffected. Should there be any inappropriate behaviour by the group after check-in, we reserve the right to discontinue the reservation without a refund. Please contact our reservations team to discuss a group booking if you are planning on travelling as a group of more than six people.

If you wish to amend your booking in any way, please contact us before you arrive. We cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate any amendments to your booking.

  • Where can I leave my feedback?

We always appreciate customer feedback as we look to continually improve our spa experience. If you wish to discuss any aspect of your treatment or experience, we ask that you request to speak to our spa manager or head therapist before you leave. In some cases, we will follow up your visit with a phone call or email.

  • Do you offer any spa products?

We have a large range of GAIA Skincare products available to continue your experience at home. Please ask any of our trained therapists if you need any advice.

  • Do you have lost property?

Gaia Spa accepts no responsibility for private property whilst on the premises. We recommend that personal items are left at home and that jewellery is not worn in the spa. We provide lockers to keep belongings safe during your visit, but it is your responsibility to ensure that all belongings are removed from the lockers and gown pockets at the end of your visit.

  • Does Gaia Spa have an Accessibility Statement?

We do. You can find information about our accessibility, here.
